Updates for May 29, 2026

Raster is now an MCP server

Agents can talk to Raster directly. Connect Raster as a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in any MCP-capable client with the same API key you already use — no custom code, no glue.

What's new:

  • A remote MCP endpoint at https://mcp.raster.app/, exposing your libraries to agents over Streamable HTTP.
  • Read tools. List libraries, list assets, list tags, and search assets — the agent can find the right photo before it acts.
  • Write tools. Upload (from a URL or inline bytes), delete, tag and untag, transfer between libraries, and update descriptions — all on your behalf.
  • Libraries as resources. Browse organizations, libraries, and assets through stable raster:// URIs the agent can reference and link to.
  • Same auth, same scopes. Bearer-token API keys with per-library Read / Write access — the exact model as our GraphQL and REST APIs.

This is the protocol support we promised in the last release. Point your agent at Raster and let it do the filing.

Now in Public Beta
